In Venice in 2008, we hosted 280 distinguished guests from over 30 countries, as well as 50 of the World’s press. Speakers included Nobel Laureates, Robert M. Solow, George A. Akerlof and Michael Spence. The theme of the Colloquia was “The World Economy, Financial Markets and Investors at an Awkward Corner”. The speakers debated the challenges at that time and new macroeconomic trends. They also analysed the role of monetary policy in economic management and considered the consequences for portfolio structures.
