ISEO Institute (Institute for Studies on Economics and Employment) is a non profit association based in Italy and founded in 1998 by Franco Modigliani.
Over the last 10 years, I.S.E.O has organized 31 international conferences and meetings that were attended by 23 Nobel Laureates in Economic Sciences, eminent economists from all over the world, Government officials, and representatives from entrepreneurial and trade union associations.
Upon Franco’s death, Prof. Robert Solow (Nobel laureate in Economics 1987) accepted with great enthusiasm to chair the Institute Modigliani founded and therefore to carry on his work.
In 2004 I.S.E.O had its first edition of an international Summer School reserved to graduate students of Economics and Social Sciences. Since that year the association have organized 5 summer school, bringing to Italy, namely to the lovely ISEO lake in the North of the country, 241 students coming from 54 different countries and 112 universities in the world.
